My father has a childhood friend who lives in the area; he's been out here longer than we have, actually. Dad said that when we first moved, he tried contacting the guy, but nothing came of it; it's only been in the last few years that they've really gotten together for anything, as the guy has re-integrated into the group. What an odd end to the year. When yesterday started, we still had a lot of snow cover all over the place; this morning, nearly all the snow was gone and I awoke to a thunderstorm.
